It is the sound of their instruments, programs, recordings, processes and theories. Greg and Oli created Acumen in order to pursue ideas, experiment with alternative forms of musical composition and perform electronic and organic music in a live setting in a way never seen before. After meeting at university, they soon found themselves making music together influenced by a desire to experiment with every day objects and randomly collected samples. From then on it has been their goal to create music which incorporates the manipulation of found sounds with live instruments, in order to achieve a more original sound. Their music combines random electronic processes, rambunctious and quirky beats,with laid-back grooves and a hint of jazz." |
