Welcome Michael Santos from Leeds, England, whose demo was received in February 2006. Michael manipulates guitars, synths and basic minidisc recordings to create a flowing hotchpotch of sound. He began to develop an interest in electronics whilst studying for his Politics degree at Leeds University, having played in a series of indie-rock and post-rock bands over the years. This project allowed him to develop an individual sound, a process that is not always feasible when working as a band. Although he began to work with beats, he found that working with free-flowing sounds came more naturally, given their boundless nature and capacity to accommodate the atmosphere of living in such a vibrant urban area. “Matters” is Michael's debut release, and will document his recordings of the first half of 2006. |
