The Flowers of Hell are a 16 piece trans-Atlantic rock orchestra
based in London and Toronto who explore the cross points of
classical and psychedelic blues based music. They have
collaborated with numerous well respected musicians including people
from Spiritualized & Spacemen 3, The Patti Smith Group, Broken
Social Scene, Death In Vegas, British Sea Power, Bat For Lashes,
Guided By Voices, and others. The full line up come together
on recordings and gig as separate halves in Europe and North America
with key members going back and forth.
They have opened for My Bloody Valentine, Dean & Britta (Luna/Galaxie
500), Spectrum (Sonic Boom of Spacemen 3), The Clientele and The
Black Angels.
"Come Hell or High Water" is a UK only licenced release on Benbecula
and was recorded in over 40 sessions with 30 musicians in London,
Prague, Toronto, Detroit, & Texas. Guests and band members on
it have played in the Patti Smith Group, Cale’s band, Spiritualized,
Spacemen 3, Broken Social Scene, British Sea Power, Bat For Lashes,
The Clientele, Guided By Voices, The Earlies, the and the Toronto
Symphony Orchestra.
