The Impossible Flower is a project conceived by Andrew Daly, originally from a short story. The flower was a magical organism lying dormant in the ground for many years. When a global holocaust occurred and the eventual near destruction of mankind; the flower found the energy to grow.
It absorbed all the Sun’s and background radiation growing tall spreading seeds that turned into houses, fruits and vegetables which could withstand any environment. Slowly the Earth's harmony became balanced once more. The Flower also made sound creating drones and echoes of yesterday for the remaining organics. Some of the ‘music’ was happy reflecting the rebirth of mankind, some of it is melancholic remembering how destructive the species were, wondering if the cycle would repeat itself.

The self made EP’s ‘each year of our lives’, ‘the mumps’ and ‘doggy’ are a reflection of this. They were all improvised and tried to create the moods which one would feel at this time. These days it’s quite easy to see how the improbable, is in fact very probable, hence the impossible flower. The ‘electro’ side of the flower is an off shoot for experimental purposes. The idea for future live shows is that a coupling of both will be used so that the music can have a more dynamic appeal giving people the undercurrent of glitchy rhythm sections with improvised psychedelic movements.
Andrew Daly has worked with people such as Paul Barran, a poet, using improvised poetry with fed back samples. The colloboration then evolved with the addition of close friend Gareth Dickson, already a stunning guitarist, who was very interested in working with improvised movements using his guitar. Lately a new member has come on board by the name Jeremy Burns who worked on the beautiful ‘Numinor’.
