Benbecula Records Showcase London, 05 June 2008 93 Feet East, Brick Lane, London FREE ENTRY We are pleased to announce that the showcase in London will be free entry. Doors 7pm - first act 7.30pm sharp The Benbecula Showcase ventures south of the border for the first time to perform in the most excellent 93 Feet East in Brick Lane, Shoreditch. The line-up will feature some excellent and diverse sounds from the record label and publishing company that prides itself on modern, challenging yet loveable music. This event's list of acts is possibly our best yet. Christ. Emerging from 2007 where the highly acclaimed album "Blue Shift Emissions" and "Bike EP" proved that this man is going from strength to strength, Christ. takes the stage alongside his live drummer to air some brand new tracks along with a selection of his best back catalogue. Ochre Ochre will release a new full length album on Benbecula toward the end of 2008 but in the meantime an exclusive download-only EP will be released the same week of this event. This taster has turned out to be pretty stunning and so fans will no doubt enjoy his new set containing said tracks. Reverbaphon Label stalwart and multi talented Reverbaphon is a fast worker and with possibly two unreleased albums under his belt ready to see the light of day, Benbecula has trouble keeping up. Expect some expertly crafted protean folk and a seamless marriage of electronics and acoustic sounds Jack Marchment Jack's new album "Corydon and Manjrekar" will see general release in mid May 2008. With excellent reviews from the likes of Reverb magazine, this newcomer is more than ready to add a colourful and electric angle to the Benbecula roster. Wounded Knee Wounded Knee has possibly the most original performance technique today. Folk songs and shanties against a backdrop of shimmering electronic loops, reverb and ingenious overdubs, his show has been described as totally mesmerising. Wounded Knee is currently recording an album for Benbecula to be released worldwide later in the year. |
